A cool roof reflects and emits the sun's heat back to the sky instead of transferring it to the building below. This helps keep your roof cooler and reduces your cooling load and air conditioning needs. PG&E is offering a rebate of up to $0.20 per square foot, so on a 1,000 square foot roof we will pay you up to $200.
Recycle your old working fridge or freezer and get $35
Old refrigerators and freezers can use two times more electricity of newer models. We'll pick up that old unit and even give you $35. Get an additional $25 when you recycle your old room A/C unit at the same time.
Residential Energy-Efficiency Federal Tax Credits
Homeowners may qualify for federal tax credits for energy efficiency under The American Recovery and Retirement Act of 2009.
Who is eligible for tax credits?
Existing homeowners are eligible for tax credits up to a maximum of $1,500 for making energy-efficient home improvements. Additional tax credits may be available for solar energy systems along with builders of new homes. Refer to the information below or the

Homeowners
Tax credits are available up to 30 percent of the cost of the project (up to a maximum of $1,500 in 2009 and 2010 for existing homes*+) for:
- Insulation, duct sealing and infiltration reduction
- Energy-efficient windows and skylights
- High efficiency central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps
- High efficiency gas furnaces and boilers
- High efficiency water heaters
